True False

So, Columbia was a very cool place to be this weekend. A growing, indie documentary film festival took place in our very own C-town downtown. T.J., my sisters, my broham (Eric naturally), and I saw some nice films:

1. The Devil and Daniel Johnston - about a musician/artist and his downward spiral due to mental illness and drugs. highly creative man. sad, but interestingly good.

2. "Just Vision" - about grassroots peace organizations for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. touching stories...so good.

3. The Big Question - compilation of interviews of workers on The Passion set. the big question being about God and religion. beautifully shot. interesting, but not my favorite...there were supposedly thoughtful interludes with dogs. enough said.

I am so proud of our little town. We've watched this thing grow every year and it's truly amazing. Wow, my brain is tired from all its intellectual stimulation...

Thanks for the invite this weekend; it was amazing!

I googled broham and found this interesting website:

Be aware of the following warning posted on the site:

"The content of this site may not be suitable for haters. If you are ignorant, easily offended, a jealous person, or just a damn HATER, please leave now. This site's content may seem arrogant, cocky, and conceded, and that's because it is! However some content on this site is also educational, comical, and sophisticated. PS Unfortunately that is not a portrait of me.

Man was that True/False film festival "true" (as the designer of the Broham website might say). I should give a quick plug to two more films we saw this weekend: "Black Gold," about the effects of the international coffee trade on Ethiopian farmers. Wow. Also, Clark and I were able to hit up the "Homemade Hillbilly Jam," which had, dare I say, a WICKEDLY GOOD free meal (catfish, smoked cheese plate, the list goes on and on) AND.....free beer and wine. Honey take me home! It was grand. Also, it was great to have Jenny, Laura, and my Broham in town.

we were sad to miss most of the festival. although glad clark was able to hit the jackpot with tj. katrina- i think we all have a lot to learn from dogs. i can't think of anything better to help me ponder deep things than watching a dog wander around.
