Martin

Last night, we went to see Martin Sexton. I love him. He is so incredibly talented. And, he looks so happy as he performs--like a chubby cherubim. About half the crowd was very into his music and the other half was the frat bros and drunken sorority sisters. Needless to say, I became annoyed with the latter, but oh well. (go kappa)

Spooky Photos

I have been loving my experimentation with the camera...here are some of my favorites. I mean, I am definitely no Abbie or Gloria, but I'm enjoying myself. If I had my own cool gallery showings, these would be under the collection "Spook".
(this one was just by chance...tj is working at his desk while his dad is resting on our guest bed--but it looks like t.j. has done something to him)
(tj got into his role in this one...look at his RAGE from within)

(this is actually a birthday self-portrait through the mirror...a little out of focus, but I like)

special day

Thanks for making my day so wonderful. I loved the calls and cards.

It was a really great day. My students wrote me notes like, "Mrs. Tomlin--you are my bestest teacher in the whole world". How can you not like that?

T.J. took me out to Bangkok Gardens, one of our favorites. Then, he had a little party for me...which included the first (of hopefully many) outdoor movie events. We have talked about screening a movie on the side of our shed for awhile and we finally did it! We watched Singing in the Rain (clearly an all-time favorite).

I loved my day and I think 25 is going to be awesome.

Jolly Holiday

You may think my title is referring to Easter. In fact, I do love Easter (I was born on it...hello!) but I am actually speaking of my last night's activity. We went to a Sing Along viewing of Mary Poppins. It was so so fun. It does not get any better than Julie Andrews. I love all those songs as well. Plus, I want to be just like Mary Poppins--she's awesome (a little on the vain side, but still, I mean she's practically perfect in every way). During children's movies, I find my mind and heart reverting back to childlike ways. My heart leaps when they climb the big smoke staircase during "Chim Chim Chiminey" and my mind still gets so bored and confused during "Feed the Birds, Tuppence a Bag" (the old lady is so scary and the song is soooo long). The whole event is right up my alley...I love children, love singing, love jumping into sidewalk chalk drawings, love to laugh, and all the other hullabaloo!

cake cutting

Every year for our anniversary, we get a cake topper and eat it with friends and/or family. Here are some pics from the event...naturally, the cake was very yummy. It's wedding cake!

I love the re-enactment of cutting the cake, since our original "cutting of the cake" was very lackluster.

three years

For our anniversary, we went and saw Death Cab for Cutie in St. Louis, among other things.

I love my husband. He's my perfect match.
