birthday

Thanks for the birthday wishes from near and far. It was a very nice day plus the weekend. My students gave me cards and asked me if I was bringing cupcakes. I said no, but then the para in my room, Jennie, brought in a surprise cake! So, everyone was happy.

T.J. and I went to the winery in Rocheport for appetizers and the river. And then, we headed out to Fayette to that fabulous restaurant in the middle of nowhere--Emmot's. So yummy and so cheap.

The celebrations continued into Friday with the start of T.O.T. (Tomlin Outdoor Theatre). The crowd came out for Robin Hood (cartoon version and one of my favorites). I love this event and love the people who come to it. The Eddy's came in from KC too and we got to know their little one, Charlie better.

All in all, I felt very blessed to be turning 26.

a reason to blog

Well hello there, readers...if there are any of you left. Perhaps you are still recovering from shock to see a brand new entry. What can I say? I just lost my will to blog.



But, thankfully, I think the will is back. I experienced one of the truly cute Kindergarten stories that just had to be shared. I actually witness cute things everyday but I don't know how many of them really can transfer into story form. Sometimes, I am just struck by an expression one of my students has or the shrill in their voice upon telling me their ear hurts or the way they choose to phrase things. All are adorable and make my heart glad that it is where it is, but many are not very good retold....but, this one is.



Little Caleb recited the pledge of allegiance today all by himself:



"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with libery and just a frog."



Really, it doesn't get any better than mispoken pledges.
