tornado!

Maybe you heard that tornados ripped through Missouri this past weekend...it made national news. Well, being a proud mid-Missourian, I saw my share of crazy weather!

On Sunday afternoon, I was very tired so I took a nap and awakened to the sound of tornado sirens! T.J. sometimes says I'm like Chicken Little (running around screaming "Eeek! the sky is falling!") and this was definitely one of those occasions. Whereas I get frightened of terrifying twisters, T.J. seems to get "jazzed" by them. I kid you not, he kept looking at the TV screen and saying "This is it BABY!".

There were howling winds and hail (golf-ball sized...seriously...and a lot of it) and we indeed did go to the basement. The power went out and so we ate salsa in our dark basement with our friends and neighbors. For the most part, I was calm and collected...there was just one moment of panic when it sounded like hail was pounding on our living room floor.

Thankfully, the tornado didn't even come through Columbia...just the wind and the hail. Our car has some hail damage and we have a broken storm window, but otherwise we're fine.

OH MY GOSH! I am most sad for your tornado situation, but simultaneously I'm laughing to myself about how easily I can picture/hear T.J. doing the "This is it BABY!" I can totally see it. Hysterical.

Hope y'all are well.

Were the roles reversed last night when Tornado Bradley tore through Kansas?

OK....no sports. How about figure skating, NASCAR or Texas Hold'em poker?
