so much FUN

My life has just been a whirlwind of excitement the past week. Remember how I went to Vail and it was awesome? Well, it has kept on going. After a measly three days of working, T.J. braved the icy road conditions and made it to the airport on time for our flight to Chicago. Yes, yes, my brother got married this weekend...via Chicago. So many things made this weekend wonderful...I'll elaborate...

1. Where we stayed: The Union League Club in downtown Chicago...OH...MY....Good....GOSH. It was by far the nicest place I have ever stayed. Our room was huge and I could have happily lived in our king size bed for the next several years. Here's me in one of the terry cloth robes...and, yes, I'm drinking champagne. That's what you do in hotel bathrobes.

2. All the good food: bruschetta, calimarri, wine, stuffed pastries, gnocchi in a creamy red sauce, stuffed chicken, and my absolute favorite--warm lobster served over greens with avocado and a shallot dressing. Plus, good coffee.

3. The Fam: We had a great time with my side of the family...including extended family like my Aunt June, Aunt Susan, Cousin Paul, Cousin Jill, Uncle Mike, and Aunt Cindy (my ring twin). T.J.'s parents and sister were in Chicago. We also saw T.J.'s cousin Andee and her hubby Scott. So many quality people in one weekend.

4. My brother and my new sis-in-law: I love them both. And I'm so very happy for them. Katie is the best. Their wedding just felt so inviting and warm. I didn't want it to end.

Last weekend rocked my face off! I could go on and on about how fun, elegant, and totally awesome it was. I was proud to have married into the Schmitz clan, for sure. On a related note, I have never seen your brother as happy as he was on Saturday. I look forward to Christmas in a couple weeks in Wisconsin and many more to come.
