our dear friends, branden and sarah, vacation in colorado every august. last year, just after we moved away from them, they popped in for a couple of days. it was a very memorable time--including a quick jaunt out to the shooting range in the grasslands. but, that's a whole other story.
well, they came again this august..fancy that! we are all hopeful that it will become an annual affair. we have already established some traditions--black seedless grapes, sarah's upside down plum cake, intentional conversation (not surprisingly, the shooting range didn't make the cut).
here are some photos from both 2009 and 2010:
one of our new traditions may become dressing up in a designated color and taking a family photo. it is fitting because we love branden and sarah like family. they are seriously the best.

Additional possibilities for Doriani/Miller/Tomlin family traditions:
1) Branden's mustache. Joke or serious statement?
2) Those popper things we're holding. It is a criminal offense to pop them on Pearl Street in Boulder, but we let 'em rip on 22nd Avenue in Greeley.
3) Sarah's introduction of an awesome new Doriani family game to our time together. This year it was sketching one another without looking at the paper. Let's keep those coming.
