pounce

my dear sister jenny, otherwise known as pounce, came to visit this past weekend.  it was so very nice to have her here.  she is a refreshing presence...always helpful, always up for anything.  luella, carlyle, and i decided to show her the mountains.  so, off we went to rocky mountain national park...

um, i had heard people go on and on about the aspens in autumn.  i really didn't think about it too much.  but, hello!!  these trees were stunning.  i love the little yellow patches across the mountain range.  the collection of color was already spectacular and i can only imagine it'll swell in beauty over the next few weeks.  

the babies were once again the champions of the rockies.  they are so good in the car and slept very, very well on the drive home.  i think they were glad to get back in their cozy, warm carseats after venturing out to see the view from the top...it was windy and a bit chilly.
 

the babies love their aunt pounce and were as sad as i was to see her go...
